I am Leah Latham, creator of Cheerful Redesign

Cheerful Event Rentals was created under the umbrella of Cheerful Redesign & Real Estate because of my love of furniture. With Redesign, I refinish old, discarded pieces of furniture and make them shine again or just use them as a canvas for artwork, articulating my unique visions. Designing spaces for people to live, work and enjoy that reflects their style, budget, and dream is very satisfying for me, especially when the client trusts me to “just do what I do and make their room pretty.” I also stage homes for real estate (I am a licensed Realtor) and started building quite the inventory when I realized that I like the more bold and abstract types of furniture. It seemed to me that I can style events with the more fun, unique pieces that you otherwise wouldn’t see in a house! But now all have merged into one brand, Cheerful Redesign, centered around furniture.

I love anything HGTV, idolize Marilyn Monroe & Princess Diana, being on the water (anywhere), painting and thrifting. I’ve been many things in my life, even a cheerleading coach, which is where “cheerful” stemmed from back in 2019. Also, with nearly a decade of experience with weddings as a DJ, I felt that my knowledge of venues, design, and couples seeking creative ways to make an experience for their guests, went alongside my offerings, and the rental side of things was born. I only work with furniture and decor, no lighting, glassware, or bulk benches and tables. My excitement comes in styling a lounge area for parties that could be used as a photo backdrop or beside the dance floor or for memorable conversations. I’m constantly building inventory, but truly enjoy creating a scene with cohesiveness to the event with colors, textures and shapes that stand out! Often, if I don’t have a piece that someone is imagining, I will go find it just for their event. I love a good challenge, but my heart flutters the most when I see a space dressed up and couples indulging in a moment on a curvy little couch or having pictures posted with love and smiles. I am blessed to put my creative energy to work and my artsy, quirky behavior is supported by those around me!
